WISCONSIN RAPIDS — City officials are ready to welcome businesses to move into the vacant East Towne Plaza buildings downtown.
On the agenda for Finance & Property last night was the implementation of a request for proposal to try and land a new business on the site. The building was purchased by the city in 2015, and has been in the process of an interior demolition to make way for a new occupant.
“The request for proposal is proposed to be put out to see if we can find a developer who is interested in most likely doing a mixed-use redevelopment of the building, with commercial retail lower, and residential upper.” said Community Development Director Adam Tegan.
Final approval for submission of the request for proposal will go through city council.
