WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Two family benefits are set to take place this weekend.
On Friday and Saturday, April 20-21, a dual-benefit will be held for two families — the DuPree and Gargas families. Held at The Ridges over this weekend, the benefit will feature live music from Southbound on Friday night, as well as raffles, beer and soda tickets, food, and more. Tickets are $10 at the door.
Val (Gargas) and Scott are both lifelong residents of the Wisconsin Rapids area. They have an 8-year-old son Aiden. Val was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma. Val and Scott will be faced with high medical bills, lost work wages, and travel expenses throughout her treatment.
Kim (DuPree) and her husband Bruce have been longtime residents of the area. They have three children Jennifer (Matt), Rachel (Jeff), and Adam as well as 5 grandchildren Kaela, Quincy, Lane, Finley, and Clara. Kim was diagnosed with invasive ductile carcinoma in March 2018. Her treatment plan includes chemotherapy and reconstructive surgery; however, the goal is to cure her disease. Kim and Bruce will be faced with high medical bills, lost work time, and travel expenses throughout her treatment.
