The Finance & Property Committee meeting was held on Mar. 1 at City Hall in Wisconsin Rapids, where a few notable items were approved.
The Wisconsin Archery Alliance was approved use of Robinson Park for their 10th annual Badger Pro Am event held from Mar. 20-22. The tournament has drawn an average of 100 competitors over the last 10 years, and sees archers from all over the United States, including Wyoming and North Carolina.
“Rapids Kwik Cab” was approved for a taxi cab license for a new taxi service in the Wisconsin Rapids area. Owner Chris Wickersham will have this service owned and operated by himself, and open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
In an effort to update the furniture and make it ergonomically correct, a motion was approved to replace the office furniture in City Hall. The cost has already been accounted for in the local budget, and will cost $13,435.
The street department engineer and technician truck was approved to be replaced by a new truck, which will be a Ford F-150. The cost has already been accounted for in the local budget.
