WISCONSIN RAPIDS — A historic school house will now serve host to antique, vintage, and home decor.
Pine Grove Schoolhouse was originally built in 1886, and was a one-room school house until 1962. It was sold and converted into a home until bought by current owners Denise and John Stewart. According to Denise, while she’s had her own antique shop outside of her home for three years now, she couldn’t pass up the opportunity to make this dream come true.
“When this opportunity came up, we grabbed it,” said Denise “I’ve always liked antiques since I was little — I take a lot of older things at estate sales and flea markets and refurbish them, or make it into something else.”
Beyond antiques, the shop will re-purpose and re-paint various items and furniture. The couple has been hard at work since May 2016 to renovate the inside and turn it into a shop. This includes the work of friend and contributor to the project, Todd Johnson.
Once called ‘Simply Vintage’, the shop will re-open under the name “Pine Grove Schoolhouse” and will hold their grand opening on Nov. 1. Catch your antique and refurbished decor fix at 3504 Seneca Rd.
