WISCONSIN RAPIDS — The Lincoln High School class of 96′ recently gave back to the community in which they grew up in.
They did so by raising money to help local cancer patients in the area through their unique organization. The Wisconsin Rapids Area Cancer Relief Fund (WRACRF) was founded by LHS Class of 1996 reunion committees.
“They were inspired to do something positive and created a fundraising opportunity at their class reunions,” said member Amy Cournoyer. “Fundraising for a great cause has been a huge success; nearly $2,000 was raised this year alone.”
The WRACRF would like to thank the following for their generous donations; Class of 1996 Classmates, Sparhawk Trucking, Pelner-Williams Plumbing & Heating, Country Disposal, Michael O’Leary DDS SC, Gaynor Cranberry, Hay Creek Pallet, Fawn Gottschalk, as well as anonymous donators.
This year, all funds raised for the WRACRF fundraiser at the class reunion were donated to the Aspirus-Riverview UW Cancer Center – “Cancer Patient Fund”, whereby money is available to a wide variety of cancer patients. This specific fund allows multiple cancer patients to receive financial assistance without the complications or restrictions that standard assistance programs typically offer.
