A 27-year-old Wisconsin Rapids woman has been charged with possession of heroin and maintaining a drug trafficking place.
According to police reports, on Sept. 30, a search warrant was executed at a residence on the 100 block of Round Oak Ct. belonging to Jessica Baumgart.
During the search police found numerous gem bags with drug residue, drug paraphernalia, digital scales, syringes, and heroin. Previous reports indicate at least two known uses of heroin at this residence, as well as an overdose that required medical assistance.
After her arrest, Baumgart was taken to Wood County Jail where officers found a small bag of heroin hidden in her clothing. The total amount of heroin weighed in at .7 grams.
If convicted, Baumgart faces up to seven years imprisonment and up to $20,000 in fines. Her court hearing has been scheduled for Oct. 24.
