Miss Wisconsin to speak at Rapids women’s luncheon
For the Rapids City Times
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Heart of Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce will host a Working Women’s Luncheon with special guest speaker Miss Wisconsin, Tianna Vanderhei, on Aug. 21 at Bull’s Eye Country Club.
Miss Wisconsin is a Wisconsin Rapids native and speaks on the platform of “B.O.S.S. Building Our Soft Skills, Strengthening Our Future.”
While pursuing an athletic training degree in college, Tianna began to struggle with coursework for the first time in her academic career. Upon following her heart and switching her major to communications, she immediately recognized the critical role “soft skills” play in opening doors and paving the path toward success for both students and those in the workforce.
“As Miss Wisconsin, it is my mission to help people of all ages become the ‘boss’ of their future,” she said. “In sharing my college tribulations and the eight-year journey I embarked on to capture the state title, I expand on the useful skills I have learned and implemented successfully along the way.”
She will discuss “the importance of a first impression, refining communication skills, and focusing on tangible relationships that help foster growth in educational settings and the workforce.”
The luncheon will be held Aug. 21, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., at Bull’s Eye Country Club, 2800 Ridgewood Trail, Wisconsin Rapids. To register, visit http://www.wisconsinrapidschamber.com/events/details/working-women-luncheon-26365.
