Neil Young once said, “Rock and roll is here to stay” — and Wisconsin Rapids has it’s own unique rock and roll band to call their own.
Vada’s Rockhouse will fill the 5:00 p.m. spot at Saturday’s Music Fest. It’s lineup consists of local music scene veterans in founder and drummer Tim Karbowski, Jamie Cumberland, who also plays in local band The Phixx, Tim and Tyler Dean on 2nd guitar and bass, and the band’s namesake, Vada Stone, as lead vocalist.
While the band has gone through various past members, it’s current form has carried a long time tradition of the band — hard hitting rock music.
The cover band has everything from Jefferson Airplane to the Foo Fighters in it’s arsenal, with an eclectic twist in Vada Stone. Stone has been performing in local venues for over six years, now, and the Marshfield native loves playing in Wisconsin Rapids.
“We have a good fan base, here,” said Stone. “Everybody seems to be a really good crowd — everybody is always enjoying the music.”
While Vada’s Rockhouse is commonly booked in another venue every week, according to Stone, the importance of live music goes only as far as it’s support.
“Support local music; support live bands, whether it be cover bands or original music,” said Stone. “As long as there are people out there playing music, and there are fans out there, then we’ll keep doing it.”
You can catch Vada’s Rockhouse at Music Fest at Robinson Park this Saturday as a part of Cranberry Blossomfest.
