Local consultant, Pearl Engineering will lend their conceptual design services to the triangle redevelopment project downtown.
Pearl will be using 3D and laser technology to scope out the area and create visual concepts of new buildings in the area. The design team, while made of engineers, will be offering strictly conceptual services.
“We wanted to take it to the next level and get some plans that are more specific,” said Adam Tegan, Director of Planning and Economic Development. — “They will actually to the site and use the laser imaging to figure out what is there and design a potential building.”
This study will include the ability to project multiple views, including aerial views from the design concepts once the data is collected. The group will also assess what type of buildings would work best based on the area, pipelines, and terrain.
“I appreciate Pearl’s willingness to work with our staff, and putting some further definition to what we’re considering for the city,” said Mayor Zach Vruwink. “It means a lot of things to a lot of different people, and we’ve heard what people think it being proposed, or that nothing is being proposed, so it’s nice to steer the discussion and dialogue going forward.”
