Police & Sheriff Calls for June 15-17
June 15
Drugs Found: At 7:31 a.m. a call was made from the 1400 block of 29th Ave. South to report that needles were found in a cigarette disposal.
No Loitering: At 6:59 p.m. a call was placed to dispatch from a burger joint on the 1300 block of W. Grand Ave. to report that a man had been hanging out for over four hours.
Stumbling and Bumbling: A call was made from the area of 1st St. North and Apricot St. regarding a man wearing a plaid shirt with a scruffy beard who had been stumbling around the area while carrying a beer.
June 16
Pranked: At 12:29 p.m. a business from the 800 block of 8th St. called dispatch regarding over 30 prank calls received that day.
Gas Thief: At 2:42 p.m. a call was made from a gas station on the 3600 block of 8th St. South to report a gas drive off — police tracked down the culprits and they were made to pay for the gas.
“I’m Alright”: At 8:11 p.m. a call was made from the 2600 block of 12th St. South to report that she had been bitten by a gopher.
June 17
Dog-Gonnit: At 9:22 a.m. a complaint was made from the 1500 block of W. Grand Ave. concerning a neighbor’s dog who kept defecating in his yard.
Middle of the Road: At 9:01 p.m. two men were reported riding bikes down 8th St. South in the middle of the road.
Yard Thieves: At 9:26 p.m. a call was made from the area of 14th St. and Baker St. to report two girls running through yards and stealing various items from them.
