Residents will have the chance to voice their opinions on the upcoming reconstruction project for 8th St. South and E. Grand Ave.
A public meeting has been announced for Thursday, Jan. 12, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at city hall. The meeting will go into detail on the 2,500 foot long project that extends from E. Grand Ave. along the Wisconsin River Bridge to 8th St. South.
This includes reconstruction of an existing roadway, and will review three different types of intersection control. This means allway stops, traffic signals, and single-lane roundabouts at Lincoln St. and E. Jackson St. and E. Grand Ave. will be reviewed. Residents are highly encouraged to attend this meeting, especially if they have knowledge of historic buildings and structures in the area.
Exhibits will be displayed at the meeting reflecting direct impact to roadways during the reconstruction period. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2019, with the final design secured by 2018.
