United Way Opportunity Column for Week of April 25
United Way of Inner Wisconsin’s Volunteer Center promotes the volunteer needs of local non-profit organizations in both south Wood and Adams Counties on a weekly basis. Here is how you can get involved and volunteer for these great organizations.
The Neighborhood Table-Volunteer Dishwashers: The Neighborhood Table is looking for volunteer dishwashers to help during meals. Dishwashers would be on a rotating schedule every 4-6 weeks. Knowledge of a commercial dishwasher is helpful. Time commitment is 3 hours the day of the meal.
Take-Out Meal Volunteers: The Neighborhood Table is need of Take-Out Meal Volunteers. These volunteers would be in charge of reporting guests’ names and number of meals reserved, overseeing the packaging of take-out meals and managing the distribution of the meals. This position is asked to volunteer for a meal every 4-6 weeks. Time commitment is a couple of hours on the day of the meal.
Villa Pines- Music Volunteer:We are looking for volunteers that enjoy music or play musical instruments. Past music volunteers have shared piano, guitar, and more with us. Our residents enjoy many different types and styles of music. A full size digital piano is available.
Sunshine Assistant: Volunteer will assist residents to sit outside for some fresh air and sunshine. Living in Wisconsin, the Winters can be very long, so our residents look forward to getting outside in the warmer weather.
Park Place Adult Day Services-In giving of your time as a volunteer, you can bring many things to our program. Your skills, your knowledge, your ideas are a needed contribution – but the greatest contribution you can make is to give friendship, caring, and love.
