For the City Times

The Wisconsin Rapids Area Community Choir will perform their spring concert entitled “100 Years of Broadway” on Sunday, May 3, 2015, 4 PM at the First Congregational Church, 311 2nd Street.

This concert will feature a wide variety of songs from early Broadway shows of the Tin Pan Alley era to Rodgers and Hammerstein. There will also be songs from Harold Arlen, Andrew Lloyd Weber, Stephen Sondheim and more.

The Choir is under the direction of Cyd Cooper and accompanied on piano by Sara Rifleman.

Following the concert there will be a reception with light hors d’eouvres and punch.  The concert is free and open to the public; free-will donations will be accepted at the doors before and after the performance.

The Wisconsin Rapids Area Community Choir has been a not-for-profit organization since 2004.  The ensemble rehearses twice each month and meets from September through December and January through May.  Interested singers may contact Sara Rifleman at 715-887-2392 for more information on joining the ensemble next fall. Rehearsals will resume in September.

“The mission of the Wisconsin Rapids Area Community Choir is to provide a creative outlet for people to come together to sing quality choral music for the enjoyment of its members and the community.”
