For the City Times

Few of us know how much hidden sugar is in everyday foods and beverages.

Riverview Spirit of Women invites all ladies to learn more about diabetes and the hidden sugars in our foods at “Sweet Little Lies,” a free girls’ night out on Tuesday, June 23, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Riverview Hospital, 410 Dewey St., Wisconsin Rapids.

Riverview’s certified diabetes educators will discuss hidden sugars, as well as other risk factors of diabetes. They will also describe the common signs and symptoms of diabetes, and explain what you can do to help prevent developing it. Ladies who attend can ask questions, sample diabetic-friendly refreshments, and take home a Riverview Spirit of Women gift.

Attendance is free, but space is limited and advance registration is required. To register, visit RiverviewSpiritofWomen.net. Women who do not have internet access may register by calling (715) 421-7500.

Membership in Riverview Spirit of Women is free to all women and includes notice of upcoming events. To join, visit RiverviewSpiritofWomen.net or call (715) 421-7500.

Riverview Hospital is proud to be Wisconsin’s only Spirit of Women hospital. Spirit of Women is a nationwide partnership of hospitals and healthcare systems that inspire health and wellness on a local level, primarily through educational and entertaining events for women.
