A 28-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man faces charges for possession of methamphetamine and marijuana, the most recent in a long list of drug charges.

On July 11, Jacob Hagemann was pulled over by police after being observed driving the wrong way down a lane of Wazeecha Ave. in Grand Rapids. When viewing Hagemann’s vehicle, law enforcement saw what he believed to be marijuana sitting in plain view on top of a frisbee in the passenger seat.

Hagemann was then arrested.

A further search of the vehicle found more marijuana and a bag of white powder confirmed to be methamphetamine.

In 2007 Hagemann was found guilty of possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and retail theft for which he served 75 days in jail.

Possession of methamphetamine is a class I felony with a maximum sentence of three years and six month imprisonment, although that can be extended another four years due to it being a second felony offense, a $10,000 fine or both. A 2nd offence of THC possession is also a class I felony with a maximum sentence of three years and six months imprisonment, a $10,000 fine or both.

Hagemann returns to Branch 3 of Wood County Circuit Court on August 12 at 3:00 PM for a preliminary hearing and arraignment.
