Cranberry Tours Offered Through October

Local cranberry marshes have begun their harvest season and the public is invited to the following marshes to see how it’s done.

Glacial Lake Cranberries

Open: Tuesday, September 22, 2015 – Thursday, October 22, 2015, call to reserve date and time.

Glacial Lake Cranberries has been in continuous operation since 1873. The family owned and operated cranberry marsh offers one-of-a-kind cranberry tours during harvest which is late September through late October. Experience the cranberry harvest, view and hear the sandhill crane, and view the vibrant fall colors over a bright sea of red. Visitors will learn history, fun facts, view videos and shop for cranberry-themed gifts at the marsh’s visitor center.

Reservations are required. Call (715) 887-4161 for more information. Glacial Lake Cranberries is located at 2480 County Road D, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54495.

Splash of Red Cranberry Tours

Open Friday, Oct. 2 to Thursday, Oct. 29.

Tours offered 9:30 AM to 12 PM

Offered by the Pittsville High school, this tour offers views of several different area marshes, the chance to pick fresh fruit from the vine, and observe testing, cleaning and freezing of the fruit harvest with students from the nation’s only cranberry science class as tour guides. A lunch with cranberry treats is included with the tour. All money goes toward scholarship and trip opportunities for Pittsville FFA members.

Reservations are a must. Tours offered 9:30 am – 12 pm Oct. 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28 and 29 with harvest and weather permitting. Tours available to motor coach groups Monday-Friday.

Open During harvest season.

Tour the marsh and manufacturing facility during the fall harvest season.

The Dubay Cranberry Company is located at 4040A Cty. Rd. A in Junction City. Call for details. (715) 457-6990.
