Assumption Runs Over Loyal

The Assumption Royals varsity football team took on the Loyal Greyhounds Saturday, Sept. 26 and came out victorious by a large margin with a score of 44-7.
The third win in a row for Assumption comes after another big 55-14 win over the Gilman Pirates last week. The Royals record improves to 5-1 while the Greyhounds drop to 4-2.
The Royals began their scoring run at 9:02 in the first quarter with a two yard touchdown run by senior running back Brady Baltus. Senior running back Jon Trickey rushed for a 38 yard TD with 1:38 left in the first quarter, bringing the score to 13-0.
The score was brought to 21-0 at halftime after sophomore quarterback Jacob Sullivan scored on a 1-yard run.
The Greyhounds only score came at 4:33 in the third quarter bringing the score to 21-7.
Assumption continued to run over the Greyhounds, scoring two more TDs and a field goal in the remainder of the game. Baltus scored in the third quarter with a 24 yard run. Sullivan completed a 12 yard TD pass to senior tight end Nathaniel Clark. The final TD of the game came following an interception run in for a TD by senior defensive end Trent Kollock.
Baltus led the Royals with 107 rushing yards followed by Trickey with 41 and Sullivan with 40.
Assumption next takes on the 3-3 McDonell Macks at 7:00 PM on October 2.
