Law Enforcement Seeks Country Sports Burglar

Wood County law enforcement is seeking two suspects involved in a burglary at Country Sports in the Town of Saratoga.
On Friday, Oct. 2, at 6:50 AM Wood County Dispatch received a call of a burglary in progress at Country Sports in the Township of Saratoga. According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, the owner reported the burglary. He interrupted the burglary while in progress. Suspects fled in Red 2006-07 Dodge dually pickup truck pulling a tandem axle trailer. On the trailer was black and white Polaris Razr UTV. The UTV was stolen from Country Sports.
While the suspects fled the scene they rammed through several gates at the business causing damage to the pickup. The left front headlight assembly was left at the scene along with other vehicle parts from the truck. A Grand Rapids Officer came across the suspect vehicle near 80th Street and Evergreen Avenue. The suspects fled from the officer and continued on Evergreen Avenue into Portage County.
The Grand Rapids Officer initiated a vehicle pursuit. While in pursuit the Officer lost control of his squad and struck a guard rail on Cty Rd. Fnear Evergreen Avenue. He was not injured, and the suspects continued to flee northbound on Cty. Rd. F in Portage County. Witnesses saw the suspect vehicle turn eastbound onto Mill Avenue in Portage County.
Two vehicles were involved in the burglary and one was left at Country Sports. This is an ongoing investigation with two suspects involved. One of the suspects along with both vehicles was caught on surveillance cameras at Country Sports.
