For the City Times

A fire in the Town of Rudolph on the morning of October 27 has completely destroyed a storage unit building.

At about 6:00 AM, Wood County dispatch received a call reporting a storage building was on fire on the 7200 block of Hwy 13/34 in the Town of Rudolph. Upon arrival, Wood County Sheriff’s deputies and fire crews found the building completely engulfed in flames.

The 14 storage units which were all rented were reported to be completely destroyed.

Hwy. 13/34 was closed for several hours as fire crews fought the blaze but has since reopened.

The immediate cause of the fire is unknown and the investigation is ongoing by the Wood County Fire Task Force and Wood County Sheriff’s Department.

The Sheriff’s Department has said the fire appears suspicious though no other details are given.

The Rudolph, Vesper and Grand Rapids Fire Departments all responded to the fire as well as the Wood County Sheriff Rescue.
