The holiday season will soon be among us.

The annual Wisconsin Rapids kickoff to the holiday season, Rekindle the Spirit, hosted by the Heart of Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce is set for November 25 at 5:30 PM.

The event will begin with the holiday decoration lighting and immediately followed by the parade. Registration for the parade is open until November 23. The entry fee is $20 and online registration is at www.wisconsinrapidschamber.com.

Chamber Program Director Krista Coon said she expects about 35 parade entries.

The parade will begin in the JCPenney parking lot and follow along the Grand Ave. bridge before terminating at the 4th St. intersection.

Following the parade, spectators can make their way to the Hotel Mead between 6:30 PM and about 8:00 PM for a visit with Santa Claus, hot chocolate, cookies and live holiday music by Dade Grode.

Hundreds are expected to be at the Mead.

“The whole atrium and gazebo area is all packed…I would say 300 to 500 people,” said Coon.

The chamber also hosts the Nekoosa Hometown Christmas Parade on December 5 at 5:15 PM.

For more information on Chamber events and the holiday parades, visit www.wisconsinrapidschamber.com or call 715-423-1830.
