Try Pickleball at East Junior High on November 2

Rapids area residents are invited to try the sport of pickleball at a free clinic and demonstration hosted by the Wisconsin Rapids Parks and Recreation Department on November 2.
The free pickleball demonstration will be held at from 7:15 to 9:00 PM at the East Junior High School Field House in Wisconsin Rapids. No registration is required and equipment will be available for those wanting to try the game.
Pickleball is a racket sport in which two or four plays use solid paddles to hit a small perforated ball, similar to a wiffle ball, back and forth over a net. The layout is similar to badminton and the rules resemble those of tennis but with some modifications.
The Wisconsin Rapids Parks and Recreation Department offers a pickleball league that begins November 16. All matches are played at East Junior High School. The application and game rules can be found here and the registration fee is $20 per person.
