Volunteers Still Needed to Rake Leaves

Warm weather the next few days will make for good raking conditions and the United Way of Inner Wisconsin needs your help.

After their annual Day of Caring two weekends ago, the United Way is still in need of volunteers to rake eight more lawns that weren’t taken care of on the official day. The Day of Caring is an annual event hosted by the United Way where groups of four to five volunteers rake leaves in the yards of local elderly and disabled residents.

Volunteers need to provide their own rakes, gloves and transportation; homeowners will provide the bags if needed. Volunteers can also bring along donations of personal essential items (shampoo, toilet paper, etc.) to be donated to Catholic Charity’s Acorn Apartments.

To volunteer, contact Amy Fluno at the Volunteer Center at 715-421-0390.  You can rake with a group of friends, your family, co-workers, church group, scout troop, etc.
