The Central Football Club Success, a U15 Portage County Youth Soccer team, took the top honor in the state Saturday as they shut out the Neenah Strikers 9-0 for the top spot in the Wisconsin Youth Soccer League.

The CFC Success defeated the Neenah Strikers and took the top spot during the final game of their season on November 7 at 1:00 PM. The Success had an aptly named season

record of 7-1.

WYSA is the premier youth soccer league in the state of Wisconsin and with Saturday’s win, the CFC Success will soon be offered a promotion to the Midwest Regional League where they could play teams from Illinois, Michigan, Iowa and Missouri. The team members, coaches and parents would have to accept the promotion before they are officially in the new league.

The team is comprised of girls ages 13-15 from the Central Wisconsin communities of Marshfield, Stevens Point, Wisconsin Rapids, Auburndale, Wausau, Rosholt, Port Edwards and Vesper. They are coached by Matt Davis of Stevens Point.
