For its holiday production, the Wisconsin Rapids Community Theatre will take to the stage with Horton Foote’s “The Trip to Bountiful.”

The play, directed by Linda Garski, is the “story of Mrs. Watts, an aging widow living with her son and daughter-in-law in a three-room flat in Houston, Texas. Fearing that her presence may be an imposition on others, and chafing under the watchful eye of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Watts imagines that if she can get away and return to her old home in the town of Bountiful, she is sure to regain her strength, dignity and peace of mind.

“Things do not go as she planned, but she ends up secure in the knowledge that the remainder of her existence will be enriched as a result of her last contact with Bountiful.”

The play will be performed on December 11-12 and 17-19 at 7:30 PM and December 20 at 2:00 PM.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the WRCT box office.

The WRCT auditorium and box office are located inside the Rapids Mall at 220 3rd Ave. S. For more performances and theatre information, visit www.wrctheatre.org.
