Wisconsin Rapids Mayor Zachary Vruwink announced yesterday he will be seeking re-election in the upcoming April election.
Vruwink made the announcement during an interview on WFHR-AM’s The Morning Magazine on November 18.
“There are a number of initiatives under way, from property acquisition to our efforts to strengthen neighborhoods, as well as to grow and to draw business to the community,” said Vruwink. “I feel that in my tenure, we’ve started a lot of those initiatives but we haven’t gotten to a point where I feel good about stepping aside from them, and so I intend to seek re-election in the spring.”
Also up for election in April are aldermanic seats for Districts 1, 2, 4, 6 and 8. Interested candidates can pick up paperwork from the City Clerk’s office beginning December 1.
The spring election will be held April 5.
