Edward J. Pawlik, age 93, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Wausau, WI.
Funeral Services are 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Rev. Valentine Joseph will officiate. Visitation will be at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, WI from 4:00-7:00 PM Tuesday and also on Wednesday at the Church from 10:00-11:00 AM. There will be a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 6:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Ed was born March 18, 1922 in Chicago, IL to Carl and Bernice (Wolski) Pawlik. He married Dorothy Kaminski on November 9, 1946 in Junction City, WI. She preceded him in death on November 23, 1988. Ed was employed as a police officer for the City of Wisconsin Rapids, WI for 30 years retiring as Captain of the department in 1984.
Ed served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #1558 of Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Ed had a passion for golf and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and polka dancing and was involved in area pool leagues.
Ed is survived by five children, James (Jo Ellen) Pawlik of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Bob (Chris) Pawlik of Knowlton, WI, Carl (Barb) Pawlik of Eugene, OR, Cheryl (Rono) Mathieson of Camas, WA and Susan (Valdo) Colombu of Orinda, CA; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and one sister Louise Lepper of Mosinee, WI.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents and wife Dorothy; two sisters, Sophie and Rose Marie and one brother, Tom.
