UPDATE: Police Seeking New Shooting Suspect

The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department is now seeking a new suspect in connection to Saturday morning’s shooting that left one injured.
Police are now seeking Diondrelle M. Hale, the brother of Leonard Hale, the original suspect of the shooting. Leonard Hale is no longer being sought for questioning regarding the shooting.
According to the WRPD, they were called to Big Al’s Tavern on Second Street North at about 12:30 AM on December 12 in response to a reported shooting. The suspect and victim had already left the tavern when police arrived.
Police were able to locate the 21-year-old victim who had a non life-threatening bullet wound to his back. The victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital and treated.
Police say there is no danger to the general public and believe the shooting was the result a dispute between the shooter and victim.
