The Grand Rapids Police Department will soon host a class in self defense training for women.

The class will be held on February 6 at the Lincoln High School Wrestling Mat Room. There will be two sessions available for registration on that date. The first session will be from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM and the second session will run from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Registration is $20 per session to cover the cost of the instructor. Class sizes will be limited to 30 people per session.

To register for one of the classes, stop by the Grand Rapids Municipal Building during normal business hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Thursday and 8:00 AM to Noon on Friday to sign up and pay the registration fee. Registration will be on a first come, first serve basis. Once the classes have been filled, they will not be able to accept additional participants.

This training will be hands on and geared for all ages, young and old alike. The training will be conducted by a veteran instructor with years of training in self defense, martial arts and law enforcement.

The Grand Rapids Municipal Building is located at 2410 48th St. S. in Wisconsin Rapids.
