The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Wood and all surrounding counties until 3 PM.

Freezing rain, which later today will change to snow, and plunging temperatures are expected. Roads will become slick and motorists are advised to give themselves extra travel time.

Less than an inch of snow accumulation is expected, with some fog anticipated tonight.

“Be alert for rapidly changing visibilities and slick roads if traveling,” the alert reads in part.
