Team brings back three first place titles
For the City Times
Now in its fifth season, Royalty Athletics, a competitive cheerleading gym based in Stevens Point, is no stranger to national titles.
With more than 30 national titles to their credit, the program added three more to their trophy wall following January’s Jamfest’s competition.
Four teams from Royalty were sent to compete at Jamfest Cheer Super Nationals in Indianapolis on Jan. 16 and 17.
For two solid day, six stages were judged simultaneously for each choreographed two-and-a-half minute routine. Competitors were scored in dance, tumbling, elite stunt and pyramid-building.
Three teams, Supremacy, a senior coed-level four team; Dynasty, a senior-level two team; and Jacks, a junior-level one team, all placed first in their divisions.
Royalty’s youngest members, Kings and Queens, a mini-level 1 team, placed second in their division.
Along with jackets, medals, trophies and banners, Dynasty and Jacks were also awarded paid bids for final competitions, held all over the United States in the spring.
Royalty Athletics consists of athletes from Stevens Point, Wisconsin Rapids, Rudolph, Wausau, Mosinee and other surrounding communities.
