Wisconsin Rapids Weekend Event Rundown

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here is the rundown of weekend events in the Wisconsin Rapids area.

 

Friday, Jan. 29. 

-Rome Snow Bandits Poker Run: 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

The Rome Snow Bandits Poker run is an annual event that runs the month of January through the first week in February. The final will be held at Trails End Bar at 1497 Alpine Dr. in Nekoosa on Feb. 6, from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm.

Saturday, Jan. 30.

-Souper Snow Sculpture Spectacular to benefit the Humane Society: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

The 11th annual Souper Snow Sculpture Spectacular will feature snow sculpting contests, as well as gourmet soups provided by local restaurants. Additional hot dogs, sides and beverages will also be provided.

Judging begins at 3 pm, awards ceremony 4:30 pm. Musical entertainment will be provided by Two Left Feet, Harps & Heels and Tilly’s Village.

The event will take place at the Centralia Center at 220 3rd Ave. South. For more information please visit The South Wood County Humane Society

-Kellner Knights Snowmobile Club Radar Run & Vintage Rally: 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

The Kellner Knights Snowmobile Club Radar Run & Vintage Rally will feature snowmobile racing, which will include trophies for the winners in each speed class. All proceeds for the event goes towards the improvement of the trail system in Wisconsin Rapids. Registration is from 9 am to 2 pm and racing is from 10 am to 3 pm. One run for $5 or three runs for $10.

This event is located at Anchor Bay Bar & Grill, 3460 N. Biron Dr.

 

Sunday, Jan. 31

-Pancake Breakfast-Catholic Schools Week 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

A pancake breakfast will be held at Assumption High School to celebrate Catholic Schools Week.
Plates are $6.00/ per adult $3.00/ per child. There will be pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee, milk & juice served at the event. Artwork and projects will be on display from Assumption High School students.

Assumption High School is located at 445 Chestnut St. in Wisconsin Rapids.

 

-Port Edwards Nepco Lake Fisheree

Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place fish in each category, as well as hundreds of door prizes. There will be raffle prizes up to $300. Tickets: $2 each, 3 for $5, 7 for $10, or 15 for $20.

Also featuring: Ice harvest by Pointe Basse

Tickets will be available at the shelter the day of the fisheree. Advance tickets are available from Nekoosa Port Edwards State Bank, Timberline Archery, or any Port Edwards Lion

Nepco Lake is located at  1410 Griffith Ave., Wisconsin Rapids.
