Blood Drive Monday at Mid-State Technical College

Mid-State Technical College will host a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 1.  The event, sponsored by the Mid-State Student Nurses Association (MNSA), will be held in the gymnasium at Mid-State’s Wisconsin Rapids Campus located on 500 32nd St. N.

To be eligible, you must be at least 17 years old (or 16 with parent/guardian consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, be free of major cold and flu symptoms, not have had hepatitis after the age of 11, and not have had any risk factors/behaviors associated with HIV/AIDS.  A list of unacceptable medications can be found on the BloodCenter of Wisconsin’s website; most medications are acceptable.

The event is open to the public. Anyone interested in donating is encouraged to pre-register at www.bcw.edu/mstc, though walk-ins are welcome.  All donors need to bring a photo ID that includes date of birth.  It may take up to one hour to donate blood.
