A 39-year-old man was arrested on Nov. 12, 2015 after police say he threw a 10-year-old to the ground with force.

Robert Heeg, of Wisconsin Rapids, is charged with child abuse and reckless harm. According to police reports, the victim reported an altercation at their residence on the 1000 block of 22nd St. North.

Heeg was watching his partner’s two children, when they burned a roll of toilet paper. The defendant became angry at this and confronted the 10-year-old. The confrontation would lead to a physical altercation, as Heeg picked up the victim three to five inches off the ground, and threw the victim hard to the floor. Reports state that Heeg informed the children not to tell anyone about the incident.

If convicted, Heeg faces three years imprisonment and up to $10,000 in fines. He is currently out on a $5,000 bond.
