A 29-year-old man has been charged with criminal property damage after police say he took a crowbar to the vehicle and smashed the windshield.

Xeng Khang, of Wisconsin Rapids, is charged with criminal damage to property. According to police reports, on Jul. 3, 2015, a deputy was dispatched to the 5400 block of Madison Circle in the Town of Saratoga.

The deputy noticed a vehicle in the driveway with a smashed windshield. The deputy made contact with Khang, who told him that he went to the residence to pick up a few items from his ex-girlfriend. When asked what happened to the car window, Khang stated that crowbar “slipped” out of his hand and went through the complainant’s car windshield.

The criminal complaint indicated that Khang has a history of verbal abuse, and that the girlfriend witnessed her car being smashed by Khang.

If convicted, Khang could face up to nine months imprisonment, and up to $10,000 in fines. Khang failed to appear in court on Feb. 8, and a warrant is out for his arrest.
