Body Recovered from Wisconsin River

The body of a man seen jumping from the Nekoosa bridge on Feb. 9 was recovered on Tuesday night.

According to a press release, at approximately 6:00 p.m., emergency staff from Wood County Sheriff’s Department and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources recovered the body of a man observed jumping off the Nekoosa bridge by State Highway 73 on Feb. 9.

Emergency crews from Port Edwards, Nekoosa, the Wisconsin DNR and Wood County have been extensively involved in the search through the last few weeks. The name of the individual will be released pending family notification.
