For the City Times

If you live in Marshfield, there is a new scholarship to help you pay for a college education.  The new Dennis and Roberta DeVetter Scholarship is available to new students attending classes at Mid-State Technical College’s Marshfield Campus this fall.  The scholarship is care of a generous DeVetter family donation to the Mid-State Foundation.

A total of 10 scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $500, split equally between the Fall and Spring semesters.  The only requirements for the scholarship are that students take a minimum of six credits each semester at Marshfield Campus.  Preference may be given to students enrolled in business programs.

The application for the Dennis and Roberta DeVetter Scholarship is easy, and people of all ages are encouraged to apply.  Visit www.mstc.edu/marshfield for scholarship details.

“Thanks to the generosity of the DeVetter family, 10 students will save money on a great college education this fall,” said Mid-State Foundation Director Jill Steckbauer.

When combined with available federal and state financial aid, a high-quality college education can be very affordable.  In fact, four out of five Mid-State students receive some form of financial aid to pay for college.

Mid-State’s Marshfield Campus, located at 2600 West 5th Street, offers a number of programs for in-demand careers in the health care, business, and other fields.  Whether you are looking to start a new career or advance your current career, you will get the real-world knowledge and hands-on skills that local employers seek in the people they hire.

“We work very closely with our industry partners to ensure our graduates have the comprehensive knowledge and experience employers are looking for in a new hire,” said Mid-State Marshfield Campus Dean Brenda Dillenburg.  “It’s why nine in 10 graduates are hired within six months of graduation.”

Mid-State’s Fall Semester begins August 22.  For more information about Mid-State and an online college application, visit www.mstc.edu.
