Joseph E. “Black” Peaslee, 60, Pittsville, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 29, 2016 at Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home, Pittsville, with Chaplain Virgil Voight officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joachim Cemetery, Pittsville and serving as pallbearers will be nephews, Greg Skonn, Wes, Jake, and Andy Fox, Jordan Wolf, Nick Sondelski, and Jeremy, Alex and Ryan Peaslee. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Monday from 10:00 am until service time, all at Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home.

Joe was born on April 23, 1955 in Wisconsin Rapids, to Roy and Mary Jane (Anderson) Peaslee. He was a 1973 graduate of John Edwards High School in Port Edwards. He was united in marriage to Linda M. Tritz on April 28, 1990 in Pittsville.

Joe had been employed at Ocean Spray in Tomah until 2014 due to illness. He was a member of the Pittsville Ducks Unlimited and Wisconsin Bear Hunters Association. He enjoyed hunting bear and deer and also following the Packers and Brewers.

He is survived by his wife, Linda and their children, Aaron Peaslee (Alyssa Spencer) and Julia JoLynn Peaslee. He is also survived by his siblings, Jan Breitzman of Pittsville, David (Karen) Peaslee and Donna (Greg) Kopelke, all of Wisconsin Rapids. He is further survived by his father-in-law, Ben Tritz, and brothers-in-law, Duane (Denise) Tritz, Bernie Tritz and Bob Tritz and sisters-in-law, JoAnn (Frank) Sondelski, Nancy (Richard) Schirmer, Jan Wolf, Julie (Todd) Fox and Sandy Tritz and by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, his mother-in-law, Carol Tritz, sister-in-law, Marlene Peaslee, and brother-in-law, Jim Breitzman.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Bethel Center and Palliative Care of Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital for their kind and Compassionate care.
