Zurfluh Defeats Thao for District 1 Alderperson

Challenger Joe Zurfluh has defeated Lee Thao for District 1 alderperson by 179 votes.

Joe Zurfluh: 386

Lee Thao: 207


 

 

Lee Thao is a longtime resident of Wisconsin Rapids. He is on the board of the Hmong Association of Wood County, as well as the Hmong 18 Council of Wisconsin, representing the Thao clan. Aside from his current duties as a common council representative for Ward 1, he is a bookkeeper for Paper City Savings.

Joe Zurfluh is a longtime resident and a former member of the U.S. Army. He is currently a sheriff’s deputy, and has held that position for 11 years.

***Results are unofficial until the canvass is complete on Tuesday, Apr. 12.
