Local Community TV/Online Programs Earn Video Fest Honors

A variety of original local television/online programs generated by Wisconsin Rapids-based River Cities Community Access Media (RCCA) earned these honors from the Wisconsin Community Media (WCM) Best of the Midwest Video Fest 2016 competition.

The following honors are listed below:

Excellence Award-Public Service Announcement (Professional) – “Social Hosting Ordinance” (Tom Loucks, Travis Plowman, David Ballerstein and Jesse Austin} — Excellence Award-Public Service Announcement (Professional) – “2016 World Ski Show Tournament” (Travis Plowman} — Excellence Award-Local Events (Amateur) – “Wisconsin Rapids Community Choir” (Art and Marcy Napgezek} — Achievement Award-Live {Professional} – “Lincoln High School Football vs. Wausau West” (Tom Loucks and David Ballerstein) — Achievement Award-Public Service Announcement (Professional) – “SeeClickFix” (Tom Loucks, Travis Plowman, Jesse Austin) — Achievement Award-Performing Arts (Professional} – “Trisis” (David Ballerstein) — Merit Award-Documentary/Feature (Professional} – “Historic Point Basse” (Tom Loucks} — Merit Award-Public Service Announcement (Professional) – “Lunch by the River Promo (Karate America}” (Jesse Austin)

The Excellence, Achievement and Merit awards are the equivalent of, respectively,“gold,” “silver” and “bronze” medals.

All honorees will be officially recognized at the Video Fest Banquet and Show, which will be held on Apr. 28 at the Sheraton Hotel in Madison.

The annual Video Fest Banquet and Show is conducted by Wisconsin Community Media, a nonprofit organization that works to enhance local communications through its membership of public, education and government (PEG) access television stations.
