Fundraising Efforts Begin for New Fire Safety Truck

For the City Times

The Wood County Fire Chiefs Association (WCFCA) has begun the fundraising efforts to replace its aging fire safety trailer.

Eighteen years ago,  WCFCA had the vision of having a safety trailer to teach children the importance of home fire safety. With generous donations from community members and corporate sponsors, they were able to have a tool to educate thousands of children and adults.

However, the trailer is in need of replacement. The WCFCA are asking for donations to help purchase a new, state of the art training tool that will help serve the Central Wisconsin area for many years to come. The trailer will be used by fire departments throughout Central Wisconsin at community events such as fairs, firemen’s picnics, parades and elementary schools.

The goal is to have this tool on the road as much as they can to help educate people on the importance of not only managing a fire emergency in their home but to escape the home safely. The trailer will also be available for use by fire departments at corporate events such as trainings and company picnics.

If your organization would like to contribute to this worthy project, please review the donor form that is attached and choose the level of support that would fit for your organization. The WCFCA will be rewarding contributors to the project with various sizes of corporate logos on the trailer. This will allow the community to see who helped this project become a reality.

For more information and PDF form for donation, please contact WCFCA Vice President Don Bohn at 715-213-2961.
