A 51-year-old man is charged with possession of methamphetamine after police say he had the drug in his possession during a search.

Timothy Moore, of Wisconsin Rapids, is charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. According to police reports, on Apr. 5, 2016, an officer stopped a vehicle for a loud muffler in the area of Airport Ave. and 8th St. South.

The officer received information about the driver’s possible passenger, later identified as Timothy Moore, as involved in suspected drug activity. The officer then called in the K-9 unit to search the vehicle and Moore.

The K-9 indicated the presence of a controlled substance, and as a result officers continued their search of the vehicle and Moore. Police found a pill bottle containing methamphetamine in his sweatshirt, as well as more methamphetamine in his right front shirt pocket.

The methamphetamine weighed 6.23 grams in total, and police confirmed the substance to be methamphetamine after an MDMA Reagent field test.

According to the report, Moore allegedly admitted that he had been selling  methamphetamine since Nov. 2015. Moore stated that he purchases two “balls” of the substance per week which he mostly sells, but also uses. Moore was on his way to make a sale before being stopped by police.

If convicted, Moore faces up to 15 years imprisonment and up to $50,000 in fines. His pre-trial conference is scheduled for May 27.
