Police & Sheriff Calls for Apr. 27

Scammed: At 4:53 p.m. a call was made from the 100 block of 9th St. North regarding a scam. A woman received a call stating her grandson was in a Chicago jail and sent over $1,100 to the Dominican Republic to bail him out. This was a scam and contacts have been made to try and get the money back.

Illegal Activity: At 7:03 p.m. a call was made from the 1400 block of 21st Ave. South regarding a complaint of drugs. The caller stated many people were coming and going from the residence and suspected that there was drug activity. Needles were allegedly found in the area.

Fishy Roommate: At 8:41 p.m. a call was made from the 600 block of 25th St. North regarding a troublesome roommate. She stated that her roommate was intoxicated and was having problems with him. He didn’t have any weapons, but stated that he was currently filleting a fish. The man fled the residence upon police arrival.

Just Dance: At 12:48 a.m. a call was made regarding loud pounding and screaming coming from a residence on the 10 block of Black Oak Circle. It turns out it was a woman dancing by herself. Everything was okay.
