Director Holly De Ruyter will be on hand during a special screening of her Old Fashioned: the Story of the Wisconsin Supper Club at McMillan Library.

The screening will be at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 9th, with an introduction by the author and discussion after the film. The event is part of the ongoing McMillan Library Film Festival.

Du Ruyter’s film is a fond look at a popular Wisconsin institution. Old Fashioned explores why supper clubs flourished in Wisconsin and how they are surviving the influx of chain restaurants. It has been featured at the Gene Siskel Film Center and at film festivals around Wisconsin and the Midwest.

Mary Bergin, the author of Wisconsin Supper Club Cookbook, will also be on hand to sign copies of her book.

For those unable to attend the evening showing, there will be a showing at 1:30 p.m.

McMillan Library is located at 490 E. Grand Ave. in Wisconsin Rapids.
