Police & Sheriff Calls for May 8
Smells Like Heroin: At 12:42 p.m. an anonymous call was placed from the 600 block of Oak St. stating that the caller could smell heroin and pot coming from the house.
Sprinkler Abuse: At 8:17 p.m. a call was made from the 300 block of 16th St. South regarding a neighbor’s sprinklers that were left on five hours ago at the time. He complained that the sprinkler was getting water on his fence and lawn.
Drunk in Public: At 8:33 p.m. a call was made from the 400 block of 8th St. South regarding a man who was reported to have almost fallen over, and was leaning against a light pole. The intoxicated pedestrian was spotted standing in the middle of the road at once point, and was laying on the ground by 9th St. and Chestnut.
Unattended Fire: A call was placed from the 300 block of 18th Ave. North regarding a fire that the caller wasn’t sure was tended to. Officers arrived to find “plenty” of people around the campfire.
