The Public Works Committee met Monday night at city hall for their monthly meeting. Here is a rundown of news and notes from that meeting. 

Work was approved for a 2 block long project for permanent street surfacing and gutter repair along 1st St. North from Apricot St. to Lavigne Ave. The current pavement is 40 years old and has seen significant deterioration. The work is slated to start in June of this year and is expected to take approximately one week.

The 2016 asphalt paving contract was awarded to American Asphalt of Mosinee, WI for the amount of $195, 462. The company has worked with the city of Wisconsin Rapids before.

The curb and gutter maintenance contract for 2016 was awarded to S.D. Ellenbecker out of Athens, WI. The amount is $244, 763.50.

The 2016 concrete street patching project was awarded to CPR Inc. out of Brookfield, WI for the amount of $285,044.
