Village Board Postpones Police Department Decision

By Joe Bachman
There was no ruling regarding the employment of Port Edwards Police Chief Jenny Iverson, and Officer Thomas Rozack by the Village Board on Tuesday night.
This incident originated when Iverson hired Rozack to the Port Edwards Police Department after being terminated by the Greenfield Police Department for a violent interaction with an intoxicated suspect. Rozack was prosecuted and convicted for this act, as he threw the woman forcefully into a cell, resulting her to become injured in the process.
The two worked together at the Greenfield Police department in the past, and each were reported to have their own issues of integrity within the department. In a letter to the board, outside attorneys advised the board to keep the officers stating “little legal risk” in doing so.
According to an open records request, the two were revealed to have been accused of lying while working for the Greenfield Police Department.
Village board members decided that they will not take any further action or vote on the matter until they can find a way to release the letter from outside attorneys and their recommendation to take no action to the public.
