A 44-year-old man has been charged with taking a vehicle without consent after police say he stole a car from his Father.
Craig, Brue, of Spencer, is charged with taking and driving a vehicle without consent.
According to police reports, on Jan. 23, an officer observed a vehicle in a no parking area on 3rd St. South, north of E. Riverview Expressway. The officer made contact with the man who was identified as Craig Brue.
According to Brue, he had been driving the vehicle, but it ran out of gas. The vehicle allegedly belonged to Brue, but was registered to his Father.
Officers made contact with the Clark County Sheriff’s department and were advised that the vehicle in question was listed as stolen. Brue was arrested soon after.
Brue later admitted that he was told not to take the vehicle, though he wasn’t sure why his father told him not to use it. He told family that he was moving, and that is when he took the truck.
If convicted, Brue faces up to six years imprisonment and up to $10,000 in fines. His arraignment is scheduled for Jun. 13.
