Vanya, Sonia, Masha & Spike (WRCT Spring Play) — 7:30 p.m./Sunday @ 2:00 p.m.
Middle-aged siblings Vanya and Sonia share a home in Bucks County, PA, where they bicker and complain about the circumstances of their lives. Suddenly, their movie-star sister, Masha, swoops in with her new boy toy, Spike. Old resentments eventually flare up. Also on the scene are sassy maid Cassandra, who can predict the future, and a lovely young aspiring actress named Nina, whose prettiness somewhat worries the imperious Masha.
This play runs all weekend. The Wisconsin Rapids Community Theatre is located at 220 3rd Ave. South.

Now, the artists’ work is taking shape, and they’re engaging residents. Father and son metal artists August and Boleslaw Kochanowski are creating “Cranberry Bog”, a steel and glass handrail for the Tribune building’s rooftop lounge. You are invited to get a first-hand look at what it takes to create this stylized depiction of cranberries on the vine. Join us for an open house at the Kochanowski Studio on Saturday, May 21.
Attendees to the open house will receive a tour of the Kochanowski blacksmith shop and studio. You’ll see the type of material that is stocked for forging and sculpting, and the equipment, benches, anvils, and countless tools that are used in the forming and shaping of the metals. You’ll also learn the basics of working the iron in the hot, malleable state, followed by forging demonstrations. There will be opportunities for Q&A as well.
