For the City Times

Team Schierl Companies made a difference in the community by helping the animals at the Humane Society of Portage County.

During the “I Bought a Bone” campaign, which ran in April, guests of The Store convenience store purchased paper bones for $1,$5 & $10 each. The bones were hung up inside the store locations and wallpapered many. With the community’s help, Team Schierl companies raised $3,600.00 for the South Wood County Humane Society.

“100% of the Buy A Bone campaign directly benefit animals at South Wood County Humane Society — specifically, funds help to provide necessary vaccines and medical treatment for animals needing rehabilitative care, “said Executive Director Bridget Chariton. “On behalf of the Humane Society’s staff, Board of Directors and volunteers, I would like to thank those in our community who participated in this campaign. Your support is greatly appreciated.”

Team Schierl Companies (TSC) was established in 1956 by Butch (John) Schierl in the home heating oil business. TSC is currently owned and operated by John’s three sons, Tim, Fritz and Bill Schierl.  TSC operates 40 retail locations in Wisconsin and the upper peninsula of Michigan focusing primarily in service industries.
