U.S. Marshals, Wood County, & Department of Corrections Conduct Sex Offender Compliance Check

In early May, a residence verification operation was conducted for registered sex offenders in Wood County, according to a press release by the U.S. Marshals.
The operation, conducted by the U.S. Marshals in conjunction with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and Wood County Sheriff’s department checked the addresses of 154 registered sex offenders in Wood County. Three were found to be non-compliant.
There will be an investigation by the sex registry program specialist and will make recommendations to the district attorney as necessary.
The working relationship between the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and the U.S. Marshals Sex Offender Investigations Branch oversees 24,187 sex offenders in Wisconsin. A database of all sex offenders can be accessed at http://offender.doc.state.wi.us/public/
